My thoughts after a conversation with Mr. Czesław Żak

Finally I’m writing this blog. I would like to start with my impressions after a conversation with Mrs. Czesława. First of all, I beg to say that  Mrs. Czeslawa is a charming, warm and open person. Most of the time, I was just sitting and listening to her extraordinary story. I was, and I am still very impressed of how could a girl of my age (Mrs. Czeslawa was about 17 years old when the War broke out) could manage with such a complicated reality. Would I be as brave, organizated, self-controlled and smart as she was? It turned out that Mrs. Czesława was living in my neighbourhood before and during the War. She was telling us about taking some people, across the streets I know, for save them... Every morning, when going to school, I wonder how could it be, if I were born few years earlier?

I’m very glad to participate in this project. It is very edifying to hear about common, or rather uncommon, exceptional human help.

The first meeting!

Today I met Mrs. Czeslawa. It was about a great experience for me. A little afraid of this meeting. But Mrs. Czeslawa was very pleasant and nice person. This is an old person full of life, despite the fact that so many survive from the period of war has a life. Already at the threshold we welcomed her dog Nika, who by the end of the meeting to do everything possible to be in the spotlight. It has long been interested in the story of survivors, but have never wgłębiałam in fair memories. Before the visit, Mrs. Żak me very difficult to find information about it. I knew only that his family hid 14 Jews, in the heart of Warsaw. This story like many others that describe World War II years has created in me a great experience. However, the history of Mrs. Żak was for me something unique. Facts and events naocznego I heard from a witness. Emotions, movements, gestures further allowed me to imagine the Warsaw and Warsaw in the years 1939 -1945.

After exiting from it wondering whether I could be so devoted to her. This raises the question probably every young person who come once met with a fair story. This event will remain forever in my memory.
